The New Factory

Outside view of Norh Loudspeaker Factory

Norh moved their factory October 2002. We are very pleased with our new location and wanted to share with the rest of the world our new home. I did not see the factory until we moved into it. I trusted nOrh's employees to find the location that would make them the happiest. I believe that allowing them to find their new workplace would work out best.

After nOrh moved in, I went out to the factory and I was shocked at two things. I was surprised how big the facility was and I was also surprised just how peaceful the environment is. After all, nOrh is located in Bangkok. Bangkok is one of the most hectic cities in the world. It is quite rare to find a location with this much peace and serenity so close to downtown.

The factory is located on the bank of the Chowprhaya river. Chowphraya is known as the River of Kings. All day long, rice barges and other exotic ships move up and down the river.

The first day that I went to the factory, the factory workers were out fishing during their lunch. The workers told me that the previous day, they had caught a fish as long as their arm. The workers are so pleased with the location that they want to come to the factory on Sundays so they can fish.

Inside the factory

The new factory has plenty of space for expansion. In fact, there is an entire floor above that is not currently being used. The plan is to move NorhTec to the upper floor.

Namphung and Pan

The new factory has a lot of spaces for the workers to eat or meet. Of course, we have music at the factory. While most of Bangkok is hot and stifling, there is a cool breeze coming off the river at all times.

Local Monks taking part in the factory opening

nOrh Loudspeaker has workers who are Buddhist, Christian and Muslim. While we have many different believers, all beliefs are dominated by Thai culture which is Buddhist. It is quite traditional to make merit before opening a factory. Making merit means that you invite the local monks and treat them to a meal. Additionally, a money contribution is made to the local temple. After this, the elder monk will bless the factory. This will make the owner of the property and the workers feel much more secure and safer.

The nOrh Loudspeaker factory greatly appreciates our customers as they have allowed us to move to this wonderful new facility where they can continue to manufacture the high quality products we have been producing for nearly five years.
