Warranty information

We have set up a service center in the USA specially for Le Amps. For units in the USA, they can ship to a repair facility in the USA. Otherwise, they can ship back to our facility in Thailand.

In brief, Le Amp is covered by a three year warranty. If you are not satisfied with the product, you may send back the amplifier to get a refund minus our shipping charge. The long version of the warranty statement is given below.

Le Amp is covered for 3 years from the date of original purchase for any manufacturing defects - parts and labor. During this time if you equipment develops any faults, we will repair or replace the product free of charge. Please note that our warranty does not cover damage to the product resulting from abuse, misuse, or accidents. For example, if you plug in a 110 volt unit to 220 volt power supply, the warranty will not cover this damage.

Warranty is also void if you attempt to repair the product at any repair center without the authorization of nOrh.

For obtaining warranty, please contact nOrh with the nature of the problem, and we will send you the instructions on how to return the product to us. The cost of shipping the product to the nearest service center is not covered, however, we ship the unit back to you free of charge.

If you wish to have your product serviced by us after the warranty expires, you will be billed for parts and labor accordingly.

For any reasons, if you are not satisfied with our product, you may ship it back to us for a full refund, minus shipping costs. This is valid for 30 days after the date of purchase. We are sorry that we cannot refund the cost of shipping in either direction but we will refund the purchase price in full. For example, you have paid $300 for an amplifier, of which $100 was our shipping cost. If you are not satisfied with it, you ship it back to us at your own expense. We refund you $200.

Le Amp Modifications

nOrh Loudspeakers and IRD are both very concerned about the recent flurry of mods surrounding Le Amp. We are seeing instances where people are willing ot pay more than half the purchase price in order to modify Le Amps.

Our policy is to caution against third party modifications. Most of these people do not have schematics, spare parts or the means to test the amplifiers after they are modified.

We understand that many of our customers are quite excited about Le Amp as it offers performance unavailable from any amplifier in its price range.

IRD and nOrh Loudspeakers will continue to try to find ways to improve the amplifier and when we do, we will offer this to all customers. To date, the only modifications that we have verified to make an improvement are:

1. Bypassing or removing the DC blocking capacitor
2. Turning down the brightness of the LED (which is a matter of personal taste).

We are not intending these mods as a revenue stream. Our labor rates are $30.00 per hour. The estimated time to perform these modifications is 30 minutes or $15.00. Customer is responsible for shipping Le Amp(s) both directions.

We will remove the capacitor from the circuit. We will put a jumper wire in its place. The PCB will not be drilled (which we think is a very bad idea). We will add a resistor in the LED path to lower the brightness. All equipment will be retested to make sure it meets specification.

The warranty will not be impacted by any modifications done by Buffalo Electronics.
